- The listings you post (titles, descriptions, photos, prices, location).
- Messages you send to other users through Soko chat.
- Basic usage data (such as pages viewed) to keep the Service running and secure.
2. Why we collect it
We use your data to operate the marketplace — letting you sign in, post listings, message sellers and buyers — and to prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse of the Service.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that help us run Soko, and only as needed:
- Cloudflare R2 — to store and serve listing images.
- Google Firebase — to power real-time chat between users.
- Africa’s Talking — to send the SMS one-time codes you use to sign in.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with the law, and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data.

6. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and local storage for essential functions only — primarily to keep you signed in (session tokens). We do not use them for third-party advertising.
7. Children
Soko is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
